The DFH Dietary Supplement Specialist Certification Program Short-Listed for Digital Education Awards
In 2021, Designs for Health (DFH) launched the Dietary Supplement Specialist Certification Program (DSS Program) to educate practitioners on the science of nutrition and dietary supplements. The 13-module program’s curriculum provides practitioners with the opportunity to learn key aspects of biology, physiology, and nutritional biochemistry, and the many ways that nutrients, herbs, and other compounds support healthy function.
In-depth and comprehensive in scope, the DSS Program supports learners in acquiring knowledge related to dietary supplementation, from the science underpinning their formulation to their safe and appropriate application. The program is accredited and approved for continuing education credits with several professional organizations. It is currently open to certified health coaches, registered nurses, and professional members of the National Association of Nutrition Professionals (NANP).
Just after the start of the new year, we were excited and proud to learn that our DSS Program was awarded finalist/shortlist status at the 2021 Digital Education Awards. The Digital Education Awards recognize the best digital people, products, and platforms that are driving quality education and lifelong learning across the world. It was founded to highlight and promote people, platforms, and products that utilize technology to transform education, such as our DSS Program.
The DSS Program was submitted into the "Adult Home Learning Product of the Year" category, competing with professional educational development teams from around the globe. The 2021 Digital Education Awards judges from various digital and educational industry organizations hailed our DSS Program.
They evaluated the DSS Program and other category challengers based on the depth and breadth of content, instructional design principles, methodology, and technical platform leveraged for content delivery, along with the intended learning objectives for the learners. After reviewing the DSS Program among many other potential contenders from around the world, the judges chose to name it on the shortlist of finalists.
We are proud of the recognition that our DSS Program has achieved by the Digital Education Awards. Our education team at Designs for Health (DFH), along with the support of other DFH staff members worked hard to create this program together as another way for DFH to support our practitioners.
